Graham Potter is unlikely to bring Kyle Macaulay to West Ham while Tim Steidten is in his role, according to West Ham Football.

The Hammers insider reported to X on 9 January that the recruitment analyst is on a sizable wage at Chelsea and would demand a big compensation fee.

It is also unlikely that the 38-year-old would make the switch to East London while the Irons' Technical Director is still in post.

This move could be reviewed again in the summer and could be dependent on how well the new head coach does in his first half-season at the London Stadium

The Englishman thrived during his spell at Brighton where he was able to utilise smart recruitment to build an excellent squad.

This saw the ex-Swansea City boss take charge of the likes of Yves Bissouma, Alex Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo during his spell at the Amex.

Despite the success of this recruitment policy, it appears that the Hammers won't be utilising it as Macaulay looks to stay at Chelsea.

This could represent a blow for Potter who will likely to be used to be working closely with his own team in the transfer department.

As a result, it will be interesting to see how he can work alongside Steidten who has made some positive signings during his spell at the London Stadium.

The German hasn't always had glowing reviews despite this and as a result, could have an effect on how successful the new boss is for the Irons.
