Darren Bent was not pleased with Kai Havertz's performance as West Ham secured an impressive 3-1 win against Arsenal at the London Stadium.

The Gunners went into the Carabao Cup Round of 16 clash as the favourites and were defeated comprehensively by the Hammers on 1 November.

Havertz had an underwhelming game and Bent, who's a pundit on Sky Sports, took to Twitter, to make his feelings clear.

He wrote, "Fair play to West Ham, Arsenal not at the races at all tonight. I hate singling out one player but I need someone to explain Why 65 million was spent on Kai Havertz and what exactly is he bringing to the team? 15 games into the season I haven't seen anything substantial."

Waste?

Havertz was not at his best against the Hammers on Wednesday and that was testament to the brilliant game plan laid out by Moyes.

Despite dominating possession, it never seemed like Arsenal were in control of the game and they struggled to break down the hosts.

The only goal they scored was late on in the game when the result was already a foregone conclusion.

West Ham

Havertz has struggled to live up to his valuation this season and the balance in the Arsenal midfield is not like what it was previously.

Declan Rice has undoubtedly been a great signing but there are still plenty of flaws in that side and they were exploited in the cup clash.

Now West Ham have the small matter of taking on Liverpool at Anfield in the next round of the competition.
