West Ham could part ways with right-back Ryan Fredericks this summer, per a report in Claret & Hugh.

The story refers to a piece published by The Athletic recently that claimed Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko, Xande Silva and Winston Reid were up for sale in this transfer window.

However, one name that they did not include is that of Fredericks who could walk out of the door at the London Stadium this summer should the Hammers receive the right offer for him.

The 28-year-old's contract expires at the end of next season, and with him unlikely to break into the first team, West Ham could look to cash in on him.

Good business

Fredericks is a decent option for us, but isn't good enough to be a first-team regular.

If we're able to part ways with him and get a decent fee for him, it would be a better financial move than to keep him on our payroll for a year and then lose him on a free next summer.

West Ham

A few years ago it seemed like he could realistically contend for the right-back spot, but things haven't gone as per plan for the player.

He can still offer a decent option in reserve, but we've got Ben Johnson who looks like he's ready to mount a serious claim for the right-back berth sooner rather than later.

Johnson's younger than Fredericks too, so even if things don't pan out instantly, there's still a chance of him getting better and even if he doesn't, his resale value is still expected to be higher.

While C&H haven't named the fee West Ham are looking for, Transfermarkt values him at £2.25 million and that could be a decent fee for someone of his calibre.
