Nuno Espirito Santo could reward Tomas Soucek after an excellent cameo against Newcastle United last Sunday.

Indeed, Newcastle's lacklustre performance left Alan Shearer baffled as the Hammers dominated from beginning to end.

Following their stunning victory, Nuno will want to minimise West Ham's relegation chances with a victory at the London Stadium against Burnley on 8 November.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka rested after Kyle Walker-Peters cameo vs Newcastle

West Ham signed Kyle Walker-Peters as a free agent over the summer, but the right-back has since accepted a peripheral rotational role.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka put in a shift against the Magpies:

  • He won 100 per cent of his tackles
  • Wan-Bissaka won 50 per cent of his ground and aerial duels
  • He committed one foul

The versatile full-back also made nine clearances and three recoveries, according to Sofascore.

However, fans would've had no complaints about Walker-Peters' 11-minute cameo, where he made one clearance and recovery.

After a solid performance from Wan-Bissaka, Nuno could look to rest and replace him with Walker-Peters against the Clarets.

Meanwhile, Igor Julio could replace Jean-Clair Todibo at centre-back, while El Hadji Malick Diouf and Max Kilman retain their spots to complete the Hammers' backline.

Furthermore, Soucek was another substitute who impressed:

  • He netted one goal from two shots taken
  • Both of his shots were on target
  • His passes in his own half were 100 per cent accurate

As a result, Nuno could opt to reward his performance by starting him over Mateus Fernandes on Saturday.

Freddie Potts shone against Newcastle and should retain his place alongside Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen. Despite not scoring, Callum Wilson will likely start once again for the Hammers.

Nuno boasts good record vs Burnley

Nuno's managerial record against Burnley is decent, having won three and lost three of the eight games he's overseen. Two games ended in a draw.

Meanwhile, Burnley were defeated 2-0 by Arsenal in their most recent Premier League match.

With a win under their belts, and Nuno's record against the Clarets a decent one, West Ham fans will feel cautiously optimistic heading into the game.
