Kudus accused of 'unacceptable' West Ham behaviour by former Irons star

Martin Allen, better known as "Mad Dog" was a real fan favourite at West Ham when he made over 200 appearances for the Hammers between 1989 and 1995. After hanging up his boots after spells at QPR, West Ham, Portsmouth and Southend, Allen entered management with the likes of Barnet, Brentford, MK Dons, Leicester and Notts County. Graham Potter could help get the best out of Mohammed Kudus at West Ham after a poor stint under Julen Lopetegui, says Martin Allen.

The Ghana international was a star under David Moyes but struggled to hit his best form under the Spaniard in the first half of the campaign.

This has seen the 24-year-old contribute with just four goal involvements despite making 16 appearances in the Premier League this season.

Former Hammers midfielder Allen has been left disappointed by the former Ajax forward but has hope that the new Irons head coach will give him a boost.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: "He is a good player but he's had disciplinary problems which is a massive issue.

"His behaviour on the pitch hasn't been acceptable and his goals and assists haven't been enough so he has to step it up.

"Hopefully Graham Potter will help him flourish.

"I fully expect some key players like Kudus and Paqueta to step up and provide some happiness as we move towards the spring."

Graham Potter backed to boost Mohammed Kudus at West Ham

There is no doubt that the versatile forward has the potential to be the Hammers' best player and he showed that with 14 goals and six assists last season in all competitions.

With Potter's free-flowing style of play, there is every chance that Kudus can hit his top level once again at the London Stadium.

It will be interesting to see how the new English head coach utilises the Ghanian in East London across the second half of the campaign.
