Jack Wilshere admits he thought West Ham would struggle this season due to European football.

West Ham finished sixth in the Premier League last season and qualified for the Europa League.

However, that has not derailed their performances in any tournament as they're currently seventh in the league, through to the Round of 16 of the EFL Cup by beating Manchester United and also sit atop their Europa League group with three wins from three games.

He said on talkSPORT, "I really love Moyesy for what he's done with them. For the fans as well, because they're good fans, loyal fans. Passionate as well, if you've ever been to the London Stadium. They're loud.

"Moyesy just gets it right in every game, doesn't he? I'll be the first to admit that I thought they'll struggle a little bit this year because they're in Europe but they keep getting results."

Proved him wrong

Most people looking in from the outside thought that this season wouldn't pan out the way it has.

For the longest time, it looked like the window was a disaster but in the final few days, the club pulled off some really good deals.

However, a striker was still not signed and that could've been a major mistake.

But given how Michail Antonio has started this campaign, a striker's absence has not been felt even a little bit.

Most of the credit for this must go to Moyes as he's kept the spirits high inside the camp and has also worked on his tactics to improve players who struggled last season.

Qualification to the Europa Round of 16 is almost a given now and who knows just how far can Moyes take this team.
