West Ham players received a chorus of boos from supporters at full-time following the defeat to Crystal Palace.

West Ham were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace after another awful performance, which saw the Hammers fall to their fourth Premier League defeat of the season already.

Jarrod Bowen was on target for the hosts, either side of a header from Jean-Phillipe Mateta and a volley from Tyrick Mitchell.

Supporters lined the streets in protest against David Sullivan before the Crystal Palace game, and the West Ham owner will have to make a change after the defeat.

West Ham fans turn on Graham Potter against Crystal Palace

Prior to the defeat against Palace, West Ham fans were heard chanting "sack the board" during the planned protest.

However, frustrations soon turned away from the ownership and onto Graham Potter as boos were heard when the Hammers went into half-time 1-0 down.

West Ham have been lining up replacements for Potter during the week, and the defeat against the Eagles almost guarantees his exit.

  • Graham Potter has a 28% win rate for West Ham in the Premier League
  • Julen Lopetegui managed a win rate of 31.8%
  • David Moyes had a 40% win rate

The Hammers hierarchy will know from the reaction from supporters that it is time for a change at the London Stadium.

Supporters were heard chanting “you’re getting sacked in the morning” after they were bewildered by his second-half substitutes.

He made the substitutes at a time when the visitors scored against the run of play, and the Hammers were putting pressure on Oliver Glasner's side.

Substitutions from Potter killed the game and West Ham sleepwalked their way towards the defeat.

The former Chelsea boss refused to substitute James Ward-Prowse, despite a poor showing from the midfielder.

The chants are a sign that fans have now run out of patience with Potter as well as the ownership.

Where does Graham Potter rank among West Ham's worst managers?

Hammers fans have had to put up with plenty of poor football since David Moyes was dismissed in 2024.

His replacement, Julen Lopetegui, ranks as the Irons' second-worst manager ever based on points per game, and his record is only worsened by Potter.

  • Potter currently has a points per game return of 1
  • Lopetegui managed a PPG of 1.18
  • Avram Grant, who got the Hammers relegated in 2010, had a PPG of 1.21

Potter will be considered as one of the worst managers in the Irons' history, and supporters will be happy if they don't see any more of his stale football.
