Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has sent a two-word message to Declan Rice after West Ham won the Europa Conference League.

The Hammers lifted the major European trophy after defeating Italian club Fiorentina 2-1 on Wednesday (7 June).

Rice played the entire 90 minutes before lifting the trophy as captain in Prague’s Fortuna Arena, with his teammates Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen among the goals.

Posting an image of himself in bed with the Europa Conference League trophy on Instagram, Rice wrote: “Good morning.”

Chelsea defender and Rice’s England teammate Chilwell commented: “Congrats brother.”

West Ham

Massive night

It was a simply massive night for Rice, West Ham and all involved with the club, with those on the pitch and in the dugout helping create a memory that will live long in the minds of supporters.

Rice was at his usual best in the heart of the Hammers midfield, protecting his defenders when Fiorentina attacked with plenty of blocks, tackles and interceptions.

And he also started plenty of attacks for his own team with many inch-perfect passes and successful dribbles.

With the midfielder looking increasingly likely of leaving the London Stadium this summer, it represents the perfect farewell, with Rice expected to move on to pastures new and be playing Champions League football next season.

West Ham though will also be in Europe once more thanks to their superb success, with the Hammers clinching a spot in next season’s Europa League.

Chelsea ace Chilwell is clearly delighted for his compatriot, with Rice and West Ham deserving plenty of praise and support for their achievement.
