Alan Brazil and Gabby Agbonlahor would be surprised to see Brendan Rodgers leave Celtic and replace Julen Lopetegui at West Ham.

Lopetegui is currently under pressure at the London Stadium after the opening 11 matches of the Premier League season, with the Hammers sitting in fourteenth and only five points above the relegation zone.

Rodgers, on the other hand, could be about to lead Celtic to yet another Scottish Premiership table while claiming a couple of impressive results in the Champions League recently.

Speaking live via talkSPORT [21 November, 6:10am], Brazil said: "Someone sent me a text last night saying Brendan [Rodgers] for West Ham... What? Brendan Rodgers? He can't leave, not with how Celtic are playing.

Agbonlahor replied: "Not with how Celtic are playing in the Champions League. They have a chance of reaching the play-offs so he's going nowhere.

Brazil said: "I don't know if it's just my mate winding me up because he is a Celtic fan or he's heard something," before Agbonhlahor finally said: "I don't think they'll sack Lopetegui yet though. I think they'll give him more time."

Brendan Rodgers to West Ham United?

While Hammers fans are already growing increasingly frustrated by the new head coach, the most difficult thing about sacking him at this point in the season would be finding a replacement.

Given how successful a season Celtic could have this season, it is highly unlikely that Rodgers would leave Scotland for East London, especially as he has only been back since the summer of 2023.

The 51-year-old's return to Celtic Park was greeted with a lot of controversy, having left the Hoops for Leicester City in April 2023, and it is difficult to see him making the same mistake again.

Brendan Rodgers has been tipped to replace Julen Lopetegui at West Ham United.

With Champions League football available for the Scottish team, the Hammers do not currently have any benefits that could lure him to the Premier League, so Lopetegui will have to continue fighting on.

The Spaniard will be under a huge amount of pressure to turn things around at the London Stadium, especially with the number of talented players currently at his disposal.
