West Ham United are out to build more momentum when they visit Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.

The Hammers went winless in their opening three Championship games after suffering relegation from the Premier League.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo's side defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-2 to earn their first second-tier win of the campaign.

They backed that up on Saturday, as Derby County were put to the sword 3-0 in front of the home fans at London Stadium.

Now, it is long trip north to face off with Steven Schumacher's Bolton at the Toughsheet Stadium.

Remarkably, this will be the first league encounter between these two teams since April 2011 when both teams were in the top flight.

Their only encounter since then was an EFL Cup tie in September 2017, which West Ham won 3-0.

Prior to that, Bolton had won eight games in a row over West Ham in all competitions.

Indeed, you have to go back as far as May 2007 for the last time the Hammers defeated Bolton - Carlos Tevez scoring twice and Mark Noble also on target in a 3-1 win at Upton Park.
