BBC pundit gushes over James Ward-Prowse in West Ham United v Nottingham Forest

Dion Dublin has made an admission on returning from retirement after watching James Ward-Prowse in the West Ham v Nottingham Forest game.

The former Manchester United and Aston Villa striker revealed that he would come out of retirement just to play with the Hammers midfielder.

Ward-Prowse moved to the London Stadium this summer and has arguably been the signing of the window, given his instant impact at his new club.

Speaking on Premier League Productions' Weekend Wrap Up, Dublin, a BBC pundit said (12/11, 21:29), "He's the only one I would want to come out of retirement to play. He's got pace, power and direction. All I have to do is stand in the box. He's the closest to David Beckham we've had. It's an incredible ball."

The Hammers won the game 3-2 and Ward-Prowse undoubtedly played a huge role in getting them over the line.

The 29-year-old was once again at his creative best as he provided two assists on Sunday, 12 November.

He was also tidy with his passing and absolutely ran the show in midfield along with proving to be a box to box presence.

Dublin is right, the midfielder is a joy for any striker who's got good positioning as he will find him inside the box like his life depends on it.

There were doubts about whether or not he'll be ready to fill the shoes of Declan Rice and while he's got the likes of Edson Alvarez and Lucas Paqueta also chipping in, it's fair to say he's been the pick of the bunch.

West Ham will be hoping that he manages to stay fit for the rest of the season as they're going to get a lot more points with him in the team than when he isn't.
