Andy Townsend: Fabianski save v Man United was brilliant
Andy Townsend was pleased with Lukasz Fabinaksi's save in the first half of Manchester United's 2-1 win against West Ham.
In the 27th minute, from Luke Shaw's corner, Bruno Fernandes found himself unmarked in the penalty area.
He then had a crack at goal which Fabianski narrowly tipped on to the bar which stopped the Hammers from going a goal down.
Townsend, who was on commentary duty for Premier League's World Feed, said, "What a save. It was a fabulous strike from Bruno and a brilliant stop from Fabianski.
"It may have been cleared off the line, but still a very good save from the West Ham keeper."
Kept them in the game
There was uncertainty at the start of the season about who the Hammers number one would be.
Alphonse Areola's arrival suggested that it could be a changing of the guard, but David Moyes opted against it.
He showed loyalty towards Fabianski and has started in him in all games this season.
Fabianski has certainly repaid his trust in him and has done exceptionally well between the sticks for the London club.
With Kurt Zouma in front of him, the Poland international now has an able deputy who could command the defence better so we can expect more cleansheets in the future.
Hopefully, Fabianski continues putting in these kinds of spirited performances in goal for the Hammers.
