Nuno Espirito Santo has provided a team news update ahead of West Ham United's clash with Southampton this weekend.

The Hammers enter the game on a high after beating fellow high-flyers Swansea City 1-0 last weekend

West Ham have now won back-to-back matches following a sticky patch of three games without a win in all competitions.

Sitting second in the table, one point behind leaders Swansea and one ahead of third-place Middlesbrough, Nuno's men cannot let up right now.

Southampton make the trip to the London Stadium sitting five points worse off than West Ham, although they did have four points deducted.

Following Friday's press conferences from Nuno and opposite number Tonda Eckert, West Ham Zone rounds up all the latest injury news.

What's the latest West Ham injury news vs Southampton?

The good news for Nuno is that he continues to have near enough a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Having a week between matches this week has certainly helped any players with knocks to rest up.

While Nuno did reveal some unnamed players will be assessed to ensure they are fully fit - as is normal - only one player has been ruled out.

That is midfielder Keiber Lamadrid, who continues to nurse a knee problem he sustained against Wolves on 1 September.

Providing an update to reporters from Rush Green on Friday afternoon, Nuno said: "Keiber is closer [to returning]. He's improving.

"Of course, after matches we always have things to assess, and we have some issues, but generally the boys are okay.

"Apart from Lamadrid, all the other boys are options for Saturday's game."

Lamadrid, hailed a "fantastic player" by former teammate Rafael Arace, has played just twice for West Ham in all competitions this season.

What's the latest Southampton injury news vs West Ham?

Former West Ham ace Flynn Downes would have loved nothing more than to play at the London Stadium on Saturday.

However, the 27-year-old was forced off with suspected ankle ligament damage in the first half of Southampton's recent clash with Norwich City.

Downes was deemed a "major doubt" to face West Ham earlier this week, having sat out the game with Bolton Wanderers last weekend.

However, Eckert has not ruled Downes out of the match entirely, while Cyle Larin will also be given every chance of being available.

"[Downes is] getting better day after day," Eckert told reporters. "We'll assess today and he's doing everything to be involved tomorrow.

"Cyle's injury was part of the hamstring towards the tendon, but it's the same for him that he's trying everything to make it tomorrow."

That leaves Mads Roerslev as Southampton's only confirmed absentee for the match.

Roerslev has not played at all this campaign after suffering a long-term injury last season.
