West Ham United can't seem to find a shred of positive news right now.

Weeks after relegation from the Premier League, the only decent piece of news has been Nuno Espirito Santo staying on.

Of course, nearly every single fan wished for David Sullivan's exit, but that appears to have slowed it all down at the London Stadium.

West Ham learned their Championship fate on Thursday, kickstarting the season away at Burnley in what promises to be a really tough start.

Back to square one, and Steve Nickson was supposed to be the start of a brand new era for the Irons.

That won't be happening now, with little to zero progress made in the London Stadium boardroom.

West Ham are in a real mess again

Does anybody know what is happening with the Irons? Everybody is in the dark right now, probably those in the building, too.

Nickson was linked with Wrexham, and despite accepting a Director of Football role with West Ham, that's collapsed.

Nuno is yet to make a big-name sale with money needing to be recouped after some major losses, meaning no incoming business has been completed, either.

Jacob Steinberg now reports that updates are coming soon after a move for Nickson to be appointed ended.

It is said that alternative plans are being readied at the London Stadium, and they are desperately needed.

Who is calling the shots at West Ham?

That is the million dollar question right now.

Of course, the big name is now Daniel Kretinsky, with Vanessa Gold also listed among boardmembers.

West Ham United: Changes continue at London Stadium as resignation lands after relegation

With Karim Virani still only interim chief executive, it's hard to imagine what sort of influence they have on these major decisions.

Just one glance, and it proves that there is nowhere near enough power and numbers in the boardroom.

After the exits of Sullivan and Karren Brady, there has been zero contingency, and while these moves may have been celebrated, it's clear they weren't planned for.

Nickson is somebody who could have arrived with immediate senior experience from his time with Newcastle, but that has failed.

Now, it's all about moving quickly to get this appointment done and plans in place for the Championship, which will arrive much sooner than those at the London Stadium think it will.
