West Ham United value boost on cards after takeover news – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive West Ham United columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium...
Dan Plumley has insisted that winning the Europa Conference League would add value on to West Ham United after takeover news emerged in recent weeks.
The Daily Mail reported on 28 May that 777 Partners were looking at the Irons for a potential takeover after failing in a move for Premier League rivals, Everton.
Plumley admitted that millions could be added on to the value, as winning the Conference League would earn the club automatic qualification to the Europa League next season.

“You might argue that you can put a few more million on there,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“It’s not going to shift the dial too much, because obviously what winning the Conference League does is get you into the Europa League for the next season, so that’s where you’re looking at what could get you £10-15million worth more revenue depending on how far you go.
“We also know that the Conference League and Europa League are not huge tickets in terms of revenue items, it’s the Champions League that is the one. From a sales point of view, you may argue that being a Europa League club may add a few million onto the value, but it’s not going to shift the barrel in the great scheme of things.”

The ownership picture is less than clear right now at West Ham United, making any takeover unlikely.
Daniel Kretinsky, David Sullivan and the David Gold estate all hold shares in the club, and until that is sorted out, nothing will likely move forward.
