West Ham United set for attacking ‘refresh’ with perfect Jaden Philogene transfer
Dan Bardell believes that Jaden Philogene from Hull City would be a perfect signing for West Ham United this summer.
The Daily Mail reported (28 June) that the Hammers have been alerted to the Englishman’s form for the Tigers in the Championship last season.
The outlet also suggested that they were contemplating whether or not to submit a bid for the young attacker this summer with a £16million offer set to come from Everton.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Bardell said: “He is a really good footballer.
“Villa fans were disappointed when he left but he wanted to play football regularly and prove himself while playing week in and week out.
“I think it is clear that West Ham need to refresh their forward areas. We’ve seen a few players move out in recent windows and that might continue.
“There is room for a young attacking talent who can play on either wing. Philogene had an outstanding season with Hull and is someone who I think could play in the Premier League quite easily.
“It looks like West Ham are in the market for a young attacker and I think Philogene would be a perfect target.“
West Ham interested in Jaden Philogene
The Englishman was superb for Aston Villa in last summer’s pre-season which had their fans excited for the future with him on the wing.
The 22-year-old has proven why he is so highly rated in the Championship with him coming on leaps and bounds under Liam Rosenior.
He scored 12 goals and assisted an additional six across 32 league appearances [FotMob] considering the Tigers finished in seventh.
Philogene has a great highlight reel of tricks and skills while also having a great goal in his locker which is something you can’t put a price on.
After signing Luis Guilherme already this summer, West Ham may not need any more young attackers in that area.
There is no guarantee that he will hit the ground running in the Premier League and he could represent a slight risk for Julen Lopetegui.
