West Ham United sack update on David Moyes with pay-off on cards at London Stadium
Dan Plumley has insisted it would be no surprise if David Moyes was sacked by West Ham United, even if it was to happen tomorrow.
The football finance expert admitted that it would likely come with a small pay-off, but that all those involved at the London Stadium need to look at the bigger picture.
Sack talk appears to be increasing at West Ham with each passing game, with no win in all competitions since December against Arsenal.
“I guess never say never,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“As I’ve always tried to say, you’ve got to look to the bigger picture and we know that often football clubs don’t do that and I know the club is in a bit of a rough patch at the minute in terms of form, but in the bigger picture, look at the success they’ve had in the past couple of years.
“If there is a natural time to break then it might be at the end of the contract and you might say that’s a natural point and this cycle has come to an end and that’s fine, but what purpose does it serve from sacking him right now? I don’t know, there may be a little bit of a pay-off there as well.
“They’re basically safe from relegation, I know they’re not hitting the heights that they expect to hit based on the past couple of seasons, and they’re still in the Europa League as well.
“It’s a really tricky one, I mean short-termism still rules in football but I think sometimes you need to look at the bigger picture and work out when is the best time for change and if that is this summer then fine, but is there much to be gained right now?
“That’s football so it could happen tomorrow and we wouldn’t be surprised.”

David Moyes to be sacked at West Ham United?
David Sullivan and the West Ham board will be watching matters closely, and despite pressure from fans, it looks as though Moyes being sacked is not on the cards as of yet.
In other West Ham news, a manager with a 69 per cent Europa League win record is eyed to replace Moyes at the London Stadium.
