West Ham United midfielder Kalvin Phillips update shared by Doctor

West Ham midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who’s on loan from Manchester City, is ruled out with a potential muscular injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims the England international may undergo an intense rehab in the summer to regain fitness levels.

His overall development appears to have been stunted due to the numerous injury setbacks and the lack of game time.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:

Difficult to say but it does sound like a muscular problem based on the little info there is.

With the injury he had and how little time he’s had to play, it’s not surprising to see him fall into a vicious cycle of injuries.

He may look to rebuild his fitness over the summer and an intense rehab as the lack of game time coupled with injuries appears to have stunted his overall development as a player as well.

Kalvin Phillips flopped on loan at West Ham

An intense rehab would make sense for the 28-year-old who’s struggled to take his game to the next level since leaving Leeds United.

He was viewed as one of the best English players ahead of his move to the Etihad Stadium but he failed to recover fully from the injury he sustained at Leeds.
