West Ham United blasted over Kurt Zouma decision as he passes medical to leave
Dan Bardell believes West Ham should sell Kurt Zouma after a poor season as captain under David Moyes.
Saudi online outlet Yallakora reported on 27 August that the Frenchman had completed his medical ahead of a move to Al-Orobah.
This could finally spell the end for the 29-year-old who Julen Lopetegui has clearly been keen to move on throughout the window.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has heavily criticised the centre back and was confused why he was named as captain last season.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Bardell said: “He’s just not fit for purpose as a Premier League centre back, in my opinion, was the reason West Ham conceded so many last season.
“He was captain which was baffling. I don’t think the fans will be hugely sorry to see him go at this point.
“He’s struggled with injuries in his career which now seem to be catching up with him now.
“I think for West Ham getting him off the books, even if it is just his wages for a season, they’ve got better options at the club now than Zouma.“
Kurt Zouma set to leave West Ham for Saudi Arabia
It was a decision that Moyes had to make but it was a strange one to see Zouma be named club captain of the Hammers last season.
For the new campaign, that honour has fallen to Jarrod Bowen who appeared to be a prime candidate even before the former Chelsea man landed the role.
Lopetegui doesn’t want the former France international as part of his squad and has proved that with his transfer dealings in his debut summer as head coach.
With Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo coming in through the doors at the London Stadium, the Spaniard has plenty of top quality options now.

Getting rid of Zouma and his high wages will be the end result that the Irons wanted at the end of this transfer window.
