West Ham United ace Nayef Aguerd injury news emerges v Luton Town and Manchester City

West Ham centre-back Nayef Aguerd may be out of the Manchester City and Luton Town games due to an ankle injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that ankle setbacks can be tricky given the stress that’s put on them so it could be hard to pinpoint the exact return date.

The Hammers take on Luton on 11 May before travelling to Etihad on the final day of the season on 19 May in what is likely to be a must-win game for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:

Ankle injuries can be tricky – especially for footballers since so much stress is placed through the ankle – so timelines can be quite hazy.

We don’t know much about the injury but him missing the next two games is looking like a possibility.

Moyes admitting that he’s not making progress is a sign that he’s probably not ready for a first-team training return.

Whether or not he’s done well in individual training since then, remains to be seen.

Nayef Aguerd has been inconsistent for West Ham United this season

The 28-year-old has had an underwhelming campaign for the Hammers which has been marred by injuries and a lack of form.

He has played 21 Premier League games for David Moyes’ side but has made a number of errors which have even led to him being dropped from the playing eleven.

David Moyes will be remembered fondly by West Ham supporters.

Even if he manages to return to full fitness before the remaining two games, it’s unlikely that Moyes will start him.
