West Ham to cut losses with Luis Guilherme after new PSR update

West Ham may just be looking to cut their losses with a possible sale of Luis Guilherme this week, Dan Plumley has said.

The football finance expert admits that the Irons aren’t exactly struggling with PSR at this stage, after looking at recent numbers within their accounts.

Guilherme could still be on the move this week, with Feyenoord and Porto both mentioned as possible destinations, with their transfer deadline on Tuesday (4 February, Voetbal International).

“It’s always a consideration in football transfer talks,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.

“Looking at those bottom line numbers for West Ham though, there’s certainly no indication in the accounts that they are struggling with PSR, from what we can see.

Maybe it’s more of a case of a cut-your-losses exercise, or they may think they have overstretched on that one and want to recoup some of that fee.

West Ham ready to accept Luis Guilherme transfer

There are wider considerations around the manager and his plans, obviously, that has all changed given the on-pitch situation.

There’s lots of wider considerations within that, but I would think that stacking up on the numbers, it’s more of one of them that hasn’t worked out rather than PSR.”

Porto, who have recouped over £90million from recent sales, were said to be advanced in their move to sign the young Brazilian, but nothing has emerged since (O Jogo).

Graham Potter is still figuring out his best squad alongside numerous injury blows, but Guilherme is still being held back to minutes at the end of games.

That could all change soon with an exit on the cards, possibly within hours.
