West Ham: Tim Steidten and David Moyes sack admission made amid infighting
Tim Steidten deserves the sack at West Ham if he’s responsible for signing some of the players, according to Frank McAvennie.
The Hammers sporting director has reportedly been at odds with David Moyes as there’s been chaos behind the scenes at the London Stadium.
However, Moyes’ playing style has been criticised and McAvennie believes that it’s not something the players will be enjoying.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, McAvennie, the former Hammers striker said:
“They’ve been arguing, haven’t they? Moyes wants something and he wants another [player]. I think the manager should be the be-all and end-all. If it doesn’t work, it’s the manager’s fault.
“If the director of football is signing players, sack him then. It’s the manager that gets sacked.
“If Moyes gets the players and gets sacked, then that’s his fault. He bought the players. But if somebody else is buying him, it’s not his fault.
“But it’s terrible to watch, it’s awful. The players can’t enjoy that.“
Is Stediten likelier to stay at West Ham United than Moyes?
It makes little sense for the Hammers to abandon the project they had in mind while hiring Steidten.
Moyes, on the other hand, was close to the sack even last season, so it’s not a concept that’s foreign to the Hammers hierarchy.

If Steidten feels that Moyes is not the right man to guide the club forward and the board agrees with him, he could be shown the door at the London Stadium.
In other West Ham news, a manager with a 69 per cent Europa League win record is eyed to replace David Moyes at the London Stadium.
