West Ham ‘tell Tim Steidten to find new club’ as pay cut expected

West Ham could make life hard for Tim Steidten if he doesn’t accept a move to a new club, says Martin Allen.

The technical director has come under fire at the London Stadium and could face punishment from David Sullivan after offering himself to other clubs [talkSPORT].

This could prove to be the final straw for the Hammers with the process of the German’s dismissal in East London already underway [David Ornstein].

Former Irons midfielder and Leicester City manager Allen believes conditions will be made difficult for the chief if he tries to remain in E20.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “I guess he’s been told that he can find somewhere else to go.

If he finds another club, the salary the club would offer would probably be less than he’s on right now. Whatever the difference is he’d ask West Ham if they would pay it but they’ll probably say no.

They’ll say it’s his opportunity to get employment away from here and if he doesn’t go they’ll make it very difficult for him to work for them.

He’ll have to work longer hours, he will have to watch the youth teams and start putting in reports for every game he goes to which could make things get messy.

I’m sure they can come to an agreement, there’s usually some sort of compensation payout and he’ll carry on looking for a new club.

West Ham to make life difficult for Tim Steidten

The technical director was the face of transfer business at the London Stadium during the summer but his dealings failed to improve the Hammers.

Large fees were spent on failed moves like Niclas Fullkrug and Luis Guilherme were particular low points which could spell the end for Steidten before the winter window ends.

If this doesn’t happen and the German looks to stick around, there is every chance that Sullivan and Co. make his life more difficult and ultimately force him out.

If he does depart Graham Potter could look to bring in one of his allies in Kyle Macaulay who worked together during the Englishman’s spell at Chelsea.
