West Ham sent message as £21m bid made to sign Yilmaz

West Ham have been linked with a move for Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz this summer.

Graham Potter will be looking to strengthen his first team in his first summer at the London Stadium.

The 2024/25 campaign did not pan out as most would’ve wanted it to, making reinforcements imperative in the transfer window.

Yilmaz to clear medical ahead of potential transfer

While Yilmaz did miss a game due to a muscular injury this season, he will have no issues clearing his medical, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has assessed his fitness record as the Hammers have made a £21million offer for the 25-year-old, per Sporx (24 May).

It has been turned down, but it remains to be seen if they return with a fresh bid for the Turkey international.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham ZoneDr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said: “He did not miss a single league game this season, which is a huge positive for any club looking to sign him.

Having looked at his fitness record, there’s no reason to believe he would not pass his medical.

West Ham will have to be careful to ensure he adapts to life in the Premier League by monitoring his minutes initially.”

Potter can help Yilmaz thrive at West Ham

Yilmaz would seamlessly fit into Potter’s high-pressing, fluid system at West Ham due to his versatility, explosive pace and goal-scoring instincts.

Capable of playing across the front line or as a wing-back, the Turkey international’s Gareth Bale-like dynamism suits the manager’s preference for adaptable attackers who contribute in both phases.

His ability to score and create in tight spaces aligns with Potter’s attacking philosophy, emphasising quick transitions and width.

Yilmaz’s competitive edge, despite occasional disciplinary issues, adds tenacity to West Ham’s frontline, complementing players like Jarrod Bowen.

His signing would bolster Potter’s squad rebuild, providing the flair and energy needed to elevate the Irons’ European ambitions at the London Stadium.
