West Ham: Kurt Zouma slammed by pundit as February footage emerges

Frank McAvennie has slammed Kurt Zouma for his display in the West Ham v Arsenal game on Saturday, 11 February.

For the Leandro Trossard goal, which was the fourth of the six goals in the 6-0 rout, instead of closing down the Belgian attacker, the Frenchman just put his leg out.

It did not impede the Gunners forward who slotted the ball into the back of the Hammers net with ease.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, McAvennie, the former Hammers striker said: “Zouma, my God.

“He puts his leg out. I was like ‘This is stupid’.

“He was like a schoolboy v Arsenal.”

Kurt Zouma has struggled for West Ham this season

Any defender worth his grain of salt would’ve closed down Trossard rather than giving him room to score from that position.

Even apart from that game, the France international has had numerous lapses of concentration over the course of the season.

David Moyes might even consider dropping him if his performances do not improve for the Hammers.

A couple of games away from the limelight could be beneficial for him and then a decision can be taken.

In other West Ham news, a manager with a 69 per cent Europa League win record is eyed to replace David Moyes at the London Stadium.
