West Ham given go ahead to seal Adama Bojang transfer

West Ham are reportedly keen on securing the services of Reims forward Adama Bojang this summer.

The 21-year-old spent last season out on loan at Grasshopper and has now returned to the Ligue 2 outfit.

He managed to score just six league goals in 26 appearances, in what was an underwhelming loan stint.

Bojang not expected to face issues clearing his medical

While the Gambian forward may take some time to adapt to the Premier League, he’s not expected to face issues clearing his medical, according to Dr Brar.

West Ham have been in talks to sign Bojang, but Brentford are also in the race to secure his services. (SunSport, 27 June)

Dr Brar told West Ham Zone: “While there were a few games he was benched last season, there were no issues with his fitness apart from a minor one at the end.

“He played a decent amount of games and I do not foresee any issues with his medical.

“It may take him a few weeks before he’s ready to start Premier League games regularly, however.”

West Ham must avoid signing Bojang

Bojang, despite his potential, is not the solution to West Ham’s attacking struggles.

The 21-year-old Reims forward, who scored six goals and provided two assists in 27 games on loan at Grasshoppers, lacks the proven goal-scoring consistency needed for the Premier League, with no goals in 11 Ligue 1 appearances.

The London Stadium outfit require a reliable, high-output striker to avoid relegation.

Bojang’s raw talent needs further development, making him a risky, long-term project rather than an immediate fix for Graham Potter’s squad.

Despite Callum Wilson’s imminent arrival at the Hammers, the club need to look at another quality number nine.
