West Ham given ‘clear instructions’ to seal Breel Embolo transfer
West Ham have been linked with a move for AS Monaco striker Breel Embolo this summer.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has reacted to the Switzerland international’s fitness over the years.
The 28-year-old scored six goals and provided five assists in Ligue 1 in the 2024/25 campaign.

West Ham may take closer look at Embolo’s history with muscle injuries
Dr Brar has urged the Hammers to be cautious before making a serious move for the Monaco talisman.
West Ham made an approach for Embolo in the January transfer window as well, and continue to retain an interest in him.
Graham Potter likes the former FC Basel forward and wants the Hammers to sign him this summer. [Give Me Sport, 22 May]
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|
Bor. M’gladbach | 106 | 25 | 20 |
FC Basel | 90 | 31 | 21 |
Monaco | 89 | 22 | 13 |

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said: “West Ham may take a closer look at his general history of muscle problems, history of hamstring injuries and if there’s any increased wear and tear from his knee cruciate injury.
“Last season, he did not face any injury setbacks, so that’s a huge positive.
“However, as it would be a move to a Premier League side, they will be a tad cautious before green-lighting the deal.”

Potter is better suited to signing more clinical strikers
Potter needs West Ham to sign a game-changing attacker this summer if he aims to finish in the top half next season.
Embolo, with only four goals and four assists in 30 Champions League games, is not going to address the London Stadium outfit’s attacking woes.
He will take time to adapt to the Premier League and there have been past issues with his fitness, which would only make things more complicated.
Money is there to be spent on better strikers, so the former Chelsea boss must be vetoed on this decision if he is the one pushing for Embolo.
