West Ham: Emerson slammed after what he did as David Moyes under sack pressure

Frank McAvennie has slammed Emerson and the other West Ham players as David Moyes is in sack trouble at the club.

The Hammers suffered yet another defeat against Nottingham Forest over the weekend as the pressure is growing on the manager.

It wasn’t the prettiest of games to watch for the fans and Nuno Espirito Santo’s men picked up a 2-0 win on 17 February.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, McAvennie, the former Hammers striker called out Ben Johnson and Tomas Soucek as well and said:

“I’m taking all responsibility away from David Moyes from that one.

I’ve not seen one player tackle. Whole 90 minutes I can’t remember anyone getting in a tackle and that’s an awful statement to make.

I just saw people strolling around. Emerson, Johnson, Soucek, just strolling.

I’m thinking ‘My God. Why didn’t David get a hold of them?’ I don’t get how players can play like that. It was that bad.

Players contributing to David Moyes sack trouble at West Ham United?

It’s no secret that the Hammers are falling off a cliff under Moyes this season but to attach the entire blame on him will be unfair.

Some of the players do not seem to be fighting for the badge or the manager and regardless of what happens to Moyes, they must not be anywhere near the playing eleven.

David Moyes has had a mixed season at West Ham

Ideally, a new manager is appointed and is given the luxury to clean house in the summer and get rid of the half-decent players at the club.

In other West Ham news, a manager with a 69 per cent Europa League win record is eyed to replace David Moyes at the London Stadium.
