West Ham and Chelsea players told to personally pay fine after FA announcement
West Ham United and Chelsea have received hefty fines after the late scrap in the Premier League in January.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team travelled to Stamford Bridge on 31 January, with both sets of players being charged with improper and provocative conduct.
It all seemingly started with Adama Traore and Joao Pedro getting into an argument at around the 95th minute, with other players getting involved.
At the end of the incident, Jean Clair-Todibo was sent off following a VAR review, and the Hammers and the Blues have been fined £300,000 and £325,000, respectively, after being charged by the FA.

Keith Hackett wants to see Nuno and the Hammers’ squad pay the fine out of their own pockets rather than the club bearing the brunt.
The former FIFA referee wants to see the Chelsea manager and players do the same, with the FA finally taking some sort of action to curb such instances.
It wasn’t a good look for the game at Stamford Bridge, but tempers were certainly high after the Irons lost a two-goal lead and suffered a 3-2 defeat after an Enzo Fernandez winner in the 92nd minute.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Hackett said, “Not every employee at a Premier League club earns the millions that those that put on the boots do. The fine will be a shock to both clubs that at last The FA disciplinary panel is showing some teeth.
“What should happen is that each club make the manager and players pay this money out of their wages. Let’s hope that is what they do, and hopefully that will send a message to other teams.”

Nuno should’ve been braver with his tactics at the London Stadium against Bournemouth, with the game ending in a 0-0 draw.
West Ham had a chance to go level on points with Nottingham Forest, but the Portuguese manager seemed content with a defensive approach for most of the game.
It wasn’t until the 72nd minute, when Callum Wilson came on for Tomas Soucek, that Nuno put greater emphasis on scoring a goal and getting the three points.
The East London outfit won’t want to get relegated and lose money on player sales, broadcast money and ticket sales, which will undoubtedly put them in an uncertain position next season.
