Tim Steidten involved in ‘behind-the-scenes issues’ at West Ham – Insider
Martin Allen believes Tim Steidten could cause further issues at West Ham after the appointment of Graham Potter.
The Englishman was appointed as Hammers boss on 9 January with three weeks of the transfer window remaining, which he may look to utilise.
The 49-year-old had a say on incomings during his time with Brighton but may be hampered by the German technical director at the London Stadium.
Former Irons midfielder Allen believes issues could arise for the former Chelsea boss with Stiedten after what happened under previous managers in East London.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “Tim Stiedten had a fall out with David Moyes and was banned from the training ground I believe.
“Lopetegui had the same problem and he was banned from the training ground again so wasn’t allowed to go there.
“There are clearly issues with the technical director at the club. The recruitment at the club hasn’t been good enough so the next lot of signings are vital.
“There seems to be behind-the-scenes issues that clearly need sorting out as Potter comes in.“
Graham Potter could clash with Tim Stiedten at West Ham
There is no doubt that the former Bayer Leverkusen employee has proved to be a polarising figure in his spell with the Hammers but has played his role in some transfer successes.
Regardless of this, Potter may want to have control over the transfers coming in and out of his new side moving forward, which won’t necessarily work with the German.

It will be interesting to see if the new head coach in East London develops a problem with Steidten and how that impacts him during his tenure as Irons boss.
