Significant compensation on cards for West Ham United from Liverpool

Dan Plumley has insisted that it would take significant compensation for Liverpool to take Tim Steidten from West Ham United in the summer.

The football finance expert admitted that the Hammers will want to push any compensation fee, although the Anfield club do have the power in the boardroom to make it happen at Anfield.

It has been shared that the German would find it very hard to turn a move to Merseyside down, although his stock is still high in London after some impressive transfers.

“I think if you’re West Ham, you are looking at that,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.

“It makes sense, you’re not going to lose a person like that whose stock is pretty high, some of the transfers he has brought in have worked really well for West Ham, there is talk of him being head-hunted perhaps.

If you’re West Ham, you’re going to want to push that compensation fee and I’m sure they will have factored that in from the original contract, they could see the potential growth in him as an individual and what they may mean for him moving forward.

Within that, Liverpool will still be a big draw for anybody, we don’t know what he is thinking within that so it will be tough, and we know those bigger clubs have still got the power and the sway to be able to get some of these deals over the line in the boardroom.

If you’re West Ham you want compensation and a significant amount of that linked to the investment you’ve made in him because his stock is pretty high at the minute.

Maybe he wants to push forward with West Ham as well, so it’s going to be really interesting to see how it plays out.”

David Sullivan hard man to deal with at West Ham

Sullivan is not one to make it easy for any deal to go through, and will likely play hardball over any potential exit for Steidten, especially to another Premier League club.

Recent hires of Steidten’s brother, Moritz, as well as other new additions behind the scenes, could mean that the German is happy to remain where he is right now.

This is one to watch ahead of the summer.
