Pundit: West Ham United attitude ‘Shameful’ this season as Roy Hodgson comparison made
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie has blasted the attitude of the West Ham squad this season, saying that the returning Roy Hodgson has shown more enthusiasm for football.
The Hammers find themselves in the relegation zone with 12 games remaining of their season, but have so far stuck by David Moyes in the dugout despite six of the teams from 12th and below changing their manager at some point during the season.
That includes Crystal Palace, who sacked Patrick Vieira to re-hire 75-year-old Hodgson, two years after he retired and left Selhurst Park.

McAvennie believes that Hodgson is too old to be managing a football team these days but wished him well in his task, but took a swing at the Hammers squad for their poor attitude this season in comparison.
“He’s too old for me, they couldn’t wait to get rid of him when he was there before,” he told West Ham Zone.
“But listen, good luck to Roy. He’s got more enthusiasm than half the players we’re talking about at West Ham at the moment.
“That’s shameful to say really.”

West Ham face Southampton, the bottom team in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon (2 April), and know that they need to start winning games to get out of trouble.
Moyes is reportedly fearing for his job if the team fails to get a victory at the London Stadium in that fixture, but a win would fire them up the table and likely help ease the pressure on him.
