Pundit urges West Ham United to make decision on David Moyes future amid ‘incredible’ claim
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie believes the future of David Moyes must be sorted out at West Ham United quickly as the uncertainty regarding his position isn’t helping anybody at the club.
According to news outlet talkSPORT reporting on 6 November, it is unlikely that the Scot will be offered a new contract when his current deal expires next summer.
Daily Mail also reported in its print edition [6 November, pg 63] that Hammers executives are considering a new role for the Scotsman upstairs at the London Stadium rather than in the dugout.

And McAvennie believes the club have to issue a statement regarding Moyes’ position soon.
Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: I don’t know what’s happening. They’ve got to sort out whether the manager is going or staying.
“Because (the uncertainty) is not going to be helpful for anybody.
“That’s the only thing that seems to be kept quiet. When you’re gonna go out and get a player, the owner comes out or people leak stories saying they’re going to go after players, but they never get them.
“And this is all kept quiet so as soon as you leak something with the manager on whether he’s staying or going, I really don’t know what’s gonna happen with David (Moyes).
“The football is not good at the moment, we’re getting results but it’s not good.
“I like football the way it should be played and West Ham are not doing it.
“They’ve got wonderful, wonderful talents, unbelievably talented players and we should be doing better.
“You know, Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma, it’s incredible talented players, and the list goes on. But the football is not for me.”
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign one Ukraine sensation in 2024, with an exit for the player “widely expected.”
