Pundit questions Said Benrahma commitment to West Ham United amid AC Milan transfer exit talks
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie has questioned the commitment of Said Benrahma to West Ham in a relegation battle amid talk of transfer interest from AC Milan.
The Algerian winger has been one of the best-performing attackers in the squad at the London Stadium this season, which has reportedly attracted the attention of Serie A champions Milan for a summer transfer.
But when asked about how a move could play out McAvennie admitted that it would be a great move for Benrahma to go to a more attacking team, however he questioned how useful Benrahma is to the current situation with the team fighting relegation.

“It would be great for him,” he told West Ham Zone.
“He’s not the kind of player that wants to be in a relegation fight, but that’s the kind of player we want at the club.
“Sometimes though you look at him and you think, ‘help your teammates out’. You want him to roll his sleeves up and get into a scrap.
“It’s all good being great on the ball, but you’ve got to help your teammates out, and that’s what they’re not doing at West Ham.

“If it goes down to the nitty gritty in the last few games, I wouldn’t back any of them. Great players, but would you want him beside you when it comes to it? I don’t know.
“I hope it doesn’t come down to that and we sort it out.”
