Pundit predicts West Ham United Europa League clash v SC Freiburg as ‘well rehearsed’ claim made
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie believes West Ham United will get a positive result in their Europa League meeting with SC Freiburg.
The Hammers travel to the German club for their second group stage match of the campaign on Thursday (5 October).
The East London outfit currently sit top of Group A after defeating Serbian side Backa Topola 3-1 at the London Stadium.

Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “The old West Ham might have lost this one, but I don’t think this current team will. I think they are regimental and Moyes is getting everything sorted.
“I don’t think they will get slack in any way, shape or form when they are playing anyone. They will be well rehearsed and well worked in what they are going to do, so I feel that they are going to get a good result, definitely.”

Summer signing Mohammed Kudus was the hero in claret and blue on matchday one, with the attacker netting a brace against Backa Topola.
Tomas Soucek was also on the scoresheet after the Hammers went 1-0 down to their opponents at the London Stadium.
Also in Group A are Greek outfit Olympiacos, with David Moyes’s men first meeting them at the end of this month away from home.
In other West Ham news, an Aston Villa ace has revealed inspiration from the Hammers for their 6-1 win against Brighton.
