Pundit moots David Moyes ‘problem’ as West Ham United transfer prediction made
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie believes David Moyes has a “problem” at West Ham, with the manager potentially needing to change the way his team plays.
The verdict comes amid the impressive performances of players such as James Ward-Prowse, who joined the club in the summer.
Also arriving at the London Stadium in the most recent transfer window were Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “Moyes has a problem because if he keeps buying good players like Ward-Prowse and Paqueta, he’s going to have to change the way he plays.
“It’s not a bad problem he’s got. The way things are going at the moment, you would think Moyes won’t sign anyone in January. But injuries creep in, and when you’re playing in Europe and playing on the weekend, it takes its toll.
“So I would think Moyes will know who to bring in. He’ll have an idea. Fair play to David Sullivan, he’s been giving him the money.”

Hammers manager Moyes and his backroom staff did a superb job in the summer transfer window in building a squad capable of challenging on all fronts, particularly after losing Declan Rice.
But it remains to be seen how long they can last, with the side struggling in the Premier League at one point last season as they enjoyed a lengthy European run.
It did, of course, work out perfectly for the East London side in the end, with their top flight status secured for another campaign as they lifted the Europa Conference League trophy.
Worry may just begin to sneak into the mindset of some supporters this time, however, after their club were smashed 4-1 by Aston Villa on Sunday (22 October).
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign an international midfielder in 2024, with three other clubs interested in his signature.
