Pundit makes West Ham United prediction v Crystal Palace as ‘fearful’ claim made

We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…

Frank McAvennie admits he’s a bit “fearful” for West Ham United ahead of their clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday and predicts it could be a high-scoring clash.

The Hammers will be looking to make it three wins from three in the Premier League when they host an Eagles side without a win since the start of November at the London Stadium on 3 December.

West Ham enter the contest off the back of a crucial win against Backa Topola on Thursday, securing their place in the Europa League knockout rounds after Tomas Soucek’s late winner.

And McAvennie believes it’s the best time for David Moyes’ men to face off against Roy Hodgson’s team due to their lack of goals at this current point in time.

Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “I’m a bit fearful.

“Listen, Crystal Palace, it’s the best time to get at them because they’re not scoring goals, they’re not really firing on all cylinders.

“This could be one of the best games of the season, potentially, if the two of them are letting in goals right left and centre so this could be a good game, could be a good game to watch.”

“It’s a bit strange, look at Manchester United, scoring three goals and letting three in at the other end, it shouldn’t happen.

“I’m gonna say a high-scoring win for West Ham United.”

The Hammers meanwhile sit ninth in the Premier League table, winning six matches, drawing twice and losing five games while Palace sit in 13th place with 15 points to their name.

In other West Ham news, a TNT Sports pundit was left blown away by one Hammers player after what he did in their 1-0 win over Backa Topola, he is “on flames” right now.
