Pundit feels for Said Benrahma as West Ham star is substituted yet again by David Moyes
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie feels for Said Benrahma after the West Ham attacker was substituted off for the 17th time in the Premier League this season against Newcastle United on Saturday.
Benrahma, 26, was visibly frustrated by David Moyes’ decision to hook him in the 73rd minute of the 1-1 draw at the London Stadium with Nikola Vlasic coming on as a replacement.
As shown in images on talkSPORT’s website, Benrahma exchanged words with the Hammers manager.

Despite feeling sorry for Benrahma for being substituted off yet again, McAvennie has backed Moyes’ decision and feels the Scot will have to have a word in the Algeria international’s ear.
“I feel for the boy,” McAvennie told West Ham Zone when speaking about Benrahma.
“I thought he was getting taken off a lot when he started because he was losing the ball in the wrong places.
“If he’s gone back to that then Moyes won’t hesitate and I guarantee he has had a word with him and spoken to him.“

According to stats on the Premier League website, Benrahma has been substituted off more times than any other player this season [17]. Aston Villa’s Emiliano Buendia and Brentford’s Sergi Canos are next [14].
Benrahma hasn’t completed a full 90 minutes in the Premier League since 3 October when the Irons lost at home to his former club Brentford.
In other West Ham news, a pundit has reacted to the Irons being in talks over a £120,000-a-week deal amid recent developments.
