Pundit: David Moyes must sort out West Ham United problems as sack talk emerges
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
David Moyes must sort out West Ham and get them away from the bottom of the table, with fans beginning to turn on him says Frank McAvennie.
The Hammers are in the relegation zone after defeat to Tottenham on Sunday evening, leaving them with 13 losses in their 23 games so far this season.
But McAvennie still believes that Moyes is the right man to turn it around, although he has warned him to start using the attacking quality in his squad more as the club shouldn’t be in the position they’re currently in with the players at their disposal.

“He got so much love last year because of the way they were playing,” he told West Ham Zone.
“To be fair to him they’ve had a few injuries, but they’ve got so much talent in that team. And I’m sitting there thinking you’ve got to use that talent, you’ve got to exploit it.
“I thought they were getting bought? All of a sudden nothing. It could be a good thing or it could be a bad thing.
“It could be good because they could be doing a deal behind everyone’s back and nobody knows about it. We’ll see.

“A club like West Ham shouldn’t be down there, so David has got to sort it out. I’m sure he’s the man to do it.
“Last year I enjoyed watching West Ham, this year not so much. That sums it up probably. Better than trying to make excuses for him. Even when they get results, it wasn’t a good game.
“Hopefully David can do it and then everyone will be happy at the club again. That would be nice.”
