Mohammed Kudus transfer claim made at West Ham United after Man City loss

Frank McAvennie believes Mohammed Kudus gets into any Premier League starting XI after watching him during Manchester City’s victory over West Ham, but insists the forward is not going anywhere.

An Erling Haaland hat-trick was enough to see off the Hammers at the London Stadium, but the 24-year-old winger was on fine form against the current Premier League champions.

Despite the 3-1 defeat, Julen Lopetegui saw many positives from the difficult match, with Kudus unlucky not to hit the back of the net after watching one of his efforts rebound off Ederson’s post.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “I think Paqueta, Kudus and Bowen can play in any team. They’re good enough for any team in England. Kudus didn’t play too well the week before [v Crystal Palace] but that boy can hold the ball. You can’t get the ball off him.

“He’s so powerful, so strong, and he’ll get us goals. When you’re playing against a team like Manchester City, good players step up. That’s what he did, so fair play to him. I’m so happy that he’s ours and the transfer window is now shut. He’s not going anywhere.”

With 14 goals and seven assists from his first 49 appearances for the West London club, Kudus certainly has areas to improve on, but his raw talent, incredible pace and strength on the ball make him a huge threat.

West Ham would not be the same team without him on the flank or at attacking midfield, even with the likes of Paqueta and Bowen in the starting XI. There is no doubt that he is destined to become an incredible Premier League player.
