Keith Hackett: Chris Wood and Kurt Zouma incident will be reported and investigated after West Ham complaints v Newcastle
We’re delighted to welcome former Premier League referee Keith Hackett as our exclusive West Ham United columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium...
Keith Hackett has insisted that West Ham complaints about Newcastle forward Chris Wood will be reported to and investigated by the FA.
Craig Dawson was said to have made a complaint about the New Zealand international “Meowing” at Kurt Zouma in the 1-1 draw.
Nothing has come from that as of yet, but Hackett admitted that the issue will likely be with the FA as things stand.

“Yes he can [do something],” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“What he should have done is call the captain of the team over, and advise him of the complaint, and advise him that the matter will be reported to the FA to be investigated.
“At half-time, he can ask both managers to come into the dressing room, and he raises the issue and advises both that the matter will be reported and investigated.”

Investigation.
Well, something that may seem so trivial could now be the middle of an FA investigation.
Dawson was right to report it, with Zouma simply concentrating on his football, but Wood couldn’t help himself.
The New Zealand international hardly touched the ball, though, so he had to keep himself busy somehow.
Hopefully, the FA can deal with this matter swiftly with a fine or potential ban, something which should make sure no other players decide to go down this route.
