Julen Lopetegui sack call made as West Ham United prediction emerges
Frank McAvennie has backed Julen Lopetegui to get a positive result as West Ham face Manchester United on Sunday (27 October).
The Hammers have managed just two Premier League wins under the new manager, beating Crystal Palace and Ipswich, also being dealt four defeats in that time.
With eight points from their first eight matches, Lopetegui’s side sit just three spots and five points above the dreaded relegation zone, but McAvennie believes a win against the Red Devils could be a turning point.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, he said: “You’ve got to give him a chance. I liked David Moyes, everyone liked David Moyes, but they wanted him to change and let the players off their reigns a bit. We’ve now got ourselves a decent back four but they’re disorganised.
“People are now talking about him coming back. That would be bigger and better than Jesus coming back. I think that’s disrespectful because the manager’s only been in for a short period of time, but he’s got to turn it around quickly.
Julen Lopetegui to lead West Ham United to victory v Manchester United?
“I think he could get a result. If they work together, if they work as a team, it really depends on which Man United team turns up. They’re all over the place. Put them under pressure and we can get a result. It’s going to be an interesting weekend.”

Lopetegui is already under pressure, and rightly so, with only one other victory to fall back on outside of their Premier League fixtures.
The infamous Jose Mourinho has been the most recent figure tipped to take the London Stadium job, with Moyes also linked with a return, but the East London club are unlikely to make a change just yet.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers could look at a Premier League-winning manager again after a recent Fabrizio Romano update.
