Jarrod Bowen tipped to stay at West Ham United after what he did

Frank McAvennie believes Jarrod Bowen will stay at West Ham United this summer because he signed a new long-term contract earlier this season.

Bowen penned fresh terms in October 2023 and is now under contract until the summer of 2030, meaning West Ham are in a strong negotiating position when it comes to the forward.

And McAvennie – speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone – hailed the Englishman’s impact alongside fellow attackers Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta.

“I’m not sure Bowen will [be the subject of big offers] because he’s just signed a five-year deal,” he said.

“[Kudus] and Paqueta and Bowen have been the three amigos – the three of them have been outstanding. When they play, they’ve been outstanding at West Ham.

“You can tell they’ve got frustrated with some of the things that [have been] happening at the club, but I think they’re smashing players.

“I love Kudus, nobody [can] get the ball off him or Paqueta, and Bowen – a [wide] midfield player that became a striker, I can relate to that. So I like him, I like him a lot. He doesn’t give the ball away.”

Can West Ham United keep Jarrod Bowen?

While plenty of speculation has surrounded Paqueta, who has attracted public interest from Manchester City, and Kudus, whose release clause has generated plenty of rumours, it is perhaps the third member of West Ham’s attacking triumvirate that they can most ill afford to lose.

Bowen is the club’s top scorer with 20 goals across all competitions – the first Hammers player to do so in almost two decades – and is the team’s talisman in attack.

Jarrod Bowen has scored some important goals for West Ham United this season.

However, at the age of 27, he may be tempted by the chance to join an elite side while still in his prime, should the opportunity arise. His lengthy contract strengthens West Ham’s negotiating position, but an unhappy star in the dressing room does little for morale.

Hammers fans will hope no such tempting offers arrive this summer as they look to remodel the team ahead of next season under Julen Lopetegui.

In other West Ham news, Troy Deeney has been left fuming at the Hammers after a behind-the-scenes development, calling a decision made by the board a “disgrace”.
