Frank McAvennie: West Ham could strike 2022 Declan Rice agreement this summer
Frank McAvennie has suggested that West Ham will ask Declan Rice to stay for one more year before agreeing to his exit in 2022.
There have been a lot of noises recently over the future of West Ham midfielder Rice, with Telegraph journalist Matt Law Matt Law sharing on his personal Twitter [01/07/21] that the 22-year-old had turned down two contract offers from the east London club.
Law also claimed that the England international wanted to be “informed” of any bids for him, with Manchester United and Chelsea waiting in the wings.

Ex-Irons forward McAvennie believes David Gold and David Sullivan will be reticent to let him go this year, but suggests a future agreement could be struck.
“I would like to see him stay for a year,” McAvennie told West Ham Zone. “I still think he’s underrated.
“I don’t think any team will pay the money that West Ham will want this year because of the COVID situation.
“I can’t see Mr Gold or Mr Sullivan letting him go for anything less than what he’s worth, so that’s not going to happen.

“He’s under contract and I think if they say ‘give us another year’, I think he might.
“Give us a year and we’ll let you go, I think that would be great for everyone.
“I’m really hopeful. I would love to see him stay for another year.”
In other West Ham news, Fabrizio Romano claims the club have made contact over this ‘Powerful’ player who scored v Irons in 2020.
