Frank McAvennie predicts scoreline in West Ham clash v Everton

We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…

Frank McAvennie expects to see West Ham keep themselves in the hunt for a top-four spot by beating Everton on Sunday.

David Moyes welcomes his former club to the London Stadium this weekend knowing that his side need to win in order to keep the heat on fourth-placed Chelsea, who are three points ahead of the Irons as it stands.

West Ham have four Premier League matches left to play this term and McAvennie predicts his former club will add three more points to their already impressive tally.

“That’s a big one, 2-1 to West Ham,” McAvennie told West Ham Zone.

“[European qualification] depends on this weekend against Everton. For me, that’s the biggest game out of their final games.”

We’re almost there, West Ham fans.

While we’d still be over the moon with a fifth or sixth-placed finish – even seventh would be great – it would be the stuff of dreams to qualify for the Champions League.

Unfortunately, Chelsea reaching the Champions League final could hand us a major blow if they go on to win it and we beat them to fourth-place but that’s something to worry about at a later date.

For now, we just need to focus on what we’re doing and that is winning every match that we have left.

After Everton we play Brighton, West Brom and Southampton.

There’s no reason why we can’t pick up 12 out of 12 points there.

In other West Ham news, this Irons star is being forced to move house because of what fans are doing.
