Frank McAvennie does not see West Ham struggling with Said Benrahma’s absence
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie believes that missing the services of Said Benrahma for 10 games may be hard for West Ham.
However, he does not see them struggling a great deal as he believes that Manuel Lanzini is good enough to fill in his shoes.
Benrahma, who will be playing in the African Cup of Nations in January, is already set to miss a number of games.

With fixture postponement and COVID regulations, that number is only set to increase.
According to Football.London, the Algerian is in line to miss a total of 10 games should his team make the final which will be on February 6.
“Well it’s going to be hard, but I see Lanzini coming in and replacing him.
“He will relish Benrahma not being there for 10 games.
“I feel hard for them to not have a player for that long but there will be teams that have more missing.
“Benrahma may be important, but Lanzini will step in so that’s no problem.”

This season, Benrahma has been David Moyes’ go to pick when fit, starting 16 Premier League games with a return of four goals and three assists.
Lanzini, on the other hand, has made just three starts and has come off the bench on nine separate occasions.
