Finance Expert reacts as ‘Very wealthy’ investor linked to West Ham United
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive West Ham United columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium...
Dan Plumley has insisted that Robert Kotick investing in West Ham United would be a “really interesting proposition” with 10% available in the club.
Sean Whetstone reported on West Ham Football that the American has a net worth of £694million and is a potential buyer of the shares being sold by Vanessa Gold and family.
The finance expert admitted that despite only being a minority stake, Kotick would still get a fairly substantial voice around the table at the London Stadium.

“It’s a really interesting proposition,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“You’ve got so many angles, obviously he is a very wealthy individual, the stake is a minority one but would still give him a fairly substantial voice.
“There are wider angles around another American investment in the Premier League and look at the dynamics of American investment more widely in the league at the minute that we’ve talked about, there are also nice synergies with his background and being linked to Activision and Call of Duty, with synergies between the gaming world and sport and how you can leverage that.

“So, I think on and off the pitch, it is an interesting proposition, it probably brings some commercial leverage linked to his background as well, so you’ve got that angle and the American investment over the top as well.
“It has given the club an opportunity and you can then start to capitalise on the pitch and link that to the type of investment they are courting as it goes hand-in-hand and everything West Ham have done over the years is making them a more attractive proposition to owners and investors as well.”
