Exclusive: Frank McAvennie predicts West Ham clash v Manchester United
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie has backed West Ham United to beat Manchester United on Sunday afternoon in their Premier League clash.
The Hammers are looking to build on their victory over Leeds on Monday, with the Red Devils having gone through a tough Europa League tie with AC Milan through the week.
McAvennie has predicted that the Irons will leave Old Trafford with a 2-1 victory, with this a fixture every single fan will be looking forward too.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said, “It’s at Old Trafford, it’s a place to go.
“They’re on a high and they’ve just beaten Manchester City. I just think West Ham will turn them over, we used to always love beating Manchester United, that was a thing for us as fans.
“West Ham fans and supporters love it up there, I’m going to go for a 2-1 win.”
This is a huge prediction.
West Ham have been performing way above expectations in the Premier League this season, but they have consistently proved themselves in recent games against the likes of Spurs.
There was a slight blip against Manchester City, but a victory at Old Trafford would certainly make everyone forget about that.
Although the teams were slightly weaker in the FA Cup clash, David Moyes will take great credit from that and use it as motivation.
McAvennie is confident, and so are we; bring it on.
