Exclusive: Frank McAvennie predicts result of West Ham clash v Liverpool

We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…

Frank McAvennie has backed West Ham United to pick up an impressive draw in their Premier League clash against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

David Moyes’ men momentarily entered the Champions League spots in midweek and would jump back ahead of the Reds with a win.

McAvennie claimed that he wouldn’t be surprised if the Irons sneaked a victory, but predicted that the score will eventually finish 1-1.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said, “They’re the champions and they are a wonderful team.

“I’ve got a feeling that West Ham will sneak it. But, if I was to put a bet on it, I would go with 1-1.”

West Ham will be feeling in untouchable form in recent weeks, and couldn’t pick a better time to be going up against Liverpool.

The Merseyside club did pick up an impressive win at Spurs on Thursday, but before that, they had been slow and even lost to Burnley at Anfield.

Outside of that win, Liverpool had failed to score in their previous four Premier League games and only picked up two points in that run.

The Irons, on the other hand, have won their last four and scored seven goals in that time – they would love to continue that form tomorrow.
