Doctor shares if Fabricio Bruno will fail medical as West Ham United transfer news emerges
Flamengo defender Fabricio Bruno is unlikely to face any issues with his West Ham medical, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while a toe setback in 2022 kept him out for a considerable period of time, his fitness record since then has been pretty impressive.
It’s understood that the Brazilian defender is on his way out this summer with the Hammers in contention to secure his services, according to BBC journalist Tim Vickery.
Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:
“Looking at his fitness record, he had spent a significant spell on the sidelines with a broken toe back in 2022.
“It saw him missing over three months as it was a major injury.
“However, it should not cause any issue with his medical.
“A broken toe for a footballer can take longer to come back from due to the heavy involvement of the toes, especially the big toe, but his injury record is otherwise quite good.“
Fabricio Bruno can be the second Brazilian to join West Ham this summer
The 28-year-old Brazil international would undoubtedly solidify the Hammers backline which has been porous over the 2023/24 season.
It also signals a trend from Tim Steidten that he’s keen on bringing in players from South America this summer.
Brazilian Luis Guilherme is understood to be the first summer signing with him now set to jet into London on Monday, per Fabrizio Romano.

A host of new players are being eyed this summer by the club and it remains to be seen how many new faces end up joining.
In other West Ham news, Dharmesh Sheth has issued an update on a Hammers player who’s now being pursued by a rival Premier League club.
